Intel and AMD have been founded almost at the same age around
1970’s and they are the main competitors in the desktop/laptop CPU (Central
Processing Unit) industry. Next, a few features of both AMD and Intel CPUs will
be mentioned:
-
Intel processors are more expensive than AMD
-
Intel employs multi-threading and increases the
performance of a CPU
-
AMD offers more cores for the same price
-
AMD CPUs can be overclocked while Intel processors
are locked for over-clocking
-
AMD has bought ATI and they offer a good average
performance for average gamers/computer users with their integrated graphics APUs
(Accelerated Processing Units) at a low price
-
AMD has higher power consumption and heat
generation than Intel
-
Intel processors are more proper for laptops
since they offer bigger battery duration
At the end AMD CPUs
are proper for people who want a cheaper processing which can offer
over-clocking and nice graphic performance. On the other hand, Intel offers
less power consumption, less heat dissipation and higher reliability for coding
and professional applications.
